Overview:
- The Sr. Analyst, Tax position involves assisting in most aspects of the International Tax department’s duties, including US International Tax compliance, tax accounting, forecasting, tax controversies and planning.
- The role is a great opportunity to work in the Corporate Tax headquarters of a U.S. based multinational medical device company that has experienced years of double-digit sales growth while remaining focused on patients’ needs;
- The Sr Analyst, Tax reports directly to the Manager, Tax (International) and will work closely with the Corporate Tax management team and key contacts in the operating business units and other corporate functions;
- The role is scoped to empower the Sr. Analyst to make valuable contributions to tax processes, yielding exciting transformations and continuous improvements, particularly in data collection and analytical reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Tax Return Compliance, utilizing compliance software:
- Prepare Forms 5471 and 8858 including importation of financial data, calculation of earnings and profits adjustments, analysis of taxes and determination of subpart F, GILTI and FDII calculations
- Prepare Form 1118, including supporting sourcing and apportionment workpapers
- Prepare US income tax elections and supporting statements
- Prepare support for and manage Puerto Rico Law 154 tax return compliance
- Tax Accounting, quarterly and annual, utilizing software applications:
- Reconcile income tax accounts for select subsidiaries and mini-consolidation of international affiliates, including incorporation into tax accounting software
- Propose journal entries for taxes of international affiliates as needed
- Assist in process of quarterly and annual information gathering
- Ensure tax-relevant data is imported and maintained properly in the tax accounting software
- Calculate taxes on deferred profit in inventory
- Screen for subpart F and other US tax elements based on forecast and actual data
- Prepare quarterly uncertain tax positions file
- Tax Authority Examinations: support for US and international examinations
- Tax Planning:
- Assist with FP&A for effective tax rate forecast models
- Support other modeling and tax research on special tax projects as required
- Training: assist in preparing and providing training in tax return compliance and tax accounting to other finance colleagues
- Other tax administrative duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of relevant experience OR three years with a Master’s required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics, Mathematics, Tax
- International tax compliance experience required (Forms 5471 and 1118)
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, MBA or MST
- Strong income tax accounting background
- Tax software experience strongly preferred and confidence working with new technologies; Corptax experience preferred
- Ability to work with and analyze large volumes of data, including experience with data analytic tools (Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI)
- Big 4 or Second Tier Accounting Firm experience
