The Enterprise Data Office (EDO) is committed to enabling business outcomes with consistent enterprise standards with master data management, data quality metrics, metadata management, analytics platform and visualization. The ETL Developer will have a unique opportunity to make meaningful personal contributions on needle-moving initiatives for the company. Key Responsibilities
- Consultation & Estimation – Consult with project managers, system analyst, and solution architects to assess requirements, identify solution options, and plan and estimate related work efforts
- Technology Implementation & Qualification – Work with solution architects to evaluate, implement, and qualify new technologies
- Solution Implementation & Testing – Act as lead developer in the implementation, testing, and deployment of data warehouses, data marts, BI tools, and user interfaces
- Planning & Coordination – Work with global delivery teams to plan releases, coordinate development activities, and drive accountability among development teams
- Standards & Practices – Develop, promote, and maintain standards and best practices for all aspects of BI service delivery, particularly development and testing
- Research & Development – Stay current with industry and technology trends to evaluate potential value and applicability to our environment
- Talent Development – Work with the development team to identify skills gaps and required training in addition to maintaining relevant professional certifications
- Platform Enhancement & Optimization – Work with the development team and product owners to identify and execute on enhancements and performance tuning opportunities
- Proven work experience as an ETL Developer
- Proficiency in warehousing architecture techniques including MOLAP, ROLAP, ODS, DM, and EDW
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field OR equivalent experience
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in information technology
- Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and testing full-stack BI solutions
- Expertise in data warehouse design and development methodologies (Kimball/Inmon)
- Expertise with data modeling and related tools (Embarcadero Data Architect, ERwin etc.)
- Expertise in Operational and analytical database platforms and query languages (Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, T-SQL, PL/SQL, SQL)
- Expertise in data integration (ETL), master/reference data management, and meta-data management tools (Informatica IICS)
- Knowledge in analytics and data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI etc.).
- Expertise in advanced Software Development Life Cycle methods and practices (e.g. source code management, test automation, continuous integration)
- Highly proficient in desktop productivity tools (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in life sciences/bio-tech/pharma
- Domain knowledge in finance, sales operations, manufacturing, and/or supply chain
- Practical experience in big data applications
- Experience implementing cloud-based BI applications
- Certifications – One or more in relevant methodology or technology (e.g. Informatica Certified, Oracle Certified Professional, MCSE in Business Intelligence or Data Platform, TDWI Certified BI Professional etc.)
- Versed in both waterfall and agile project methods and related tools
